Although rooted in the ancient and sometimes deadly art of jujitsu, this exciting system of today allows martial artists from all backgrounds to test their fighting and defensive skills in a realistic but safe manner. A number of tournaments are held throughout the year, allowing participants to enjoy the satisfaction and enlightenment gained in competition with peers, as well as giving spectators a thrilling glimpse into the world of martial arts; a world they themselves may one day wish to enter. There is an annual National tournament, and every two years the best from the tournament circuit are formed into teams to represent their respective nations in the World Championships.

Since Sport Jujitsu encompasses all ranges and forms (i.e., strikes, kicks, sweeps & throws, joint-lock submission, chokes and grappling) a successful competitor needs to be well-rounded...and for many, this system is their daily practice of the martial arts. It is both a practical form of self-defence and an exciting competitive sport.

Increasing numbers of youngsters are "coming up" with Sport Jujitsu as their original style, so the future of competition will be fierce but wonderful.
